This week I talk to a writer and artist who just recently passed 15,000 page views in the relatively short time he has been an active member of this community on this site. His most viewed story is: thekingofthebattle.deviantart.…. An administrator and founder of multiple groups as well as a member of four others, he frequently posts journals on all matter of subjects and has most recently been writing stories featuring characters from both the Marvel and DC universes. Check him out here: thekingofthebattle.deviantart.…

I'm talking about none other than :iconthekingofthebattle: , and I got the honor to talk to him and ask him all about the work he does and the work he plans to do. I want to thank him for giving me this opportunity, it was great to talk to someone so passionate about the community.

What is your process for writing a story like? Could you take us through how you write something?

TK:My writing process is kind of simple. I sit down, put in some ear buds, listen to some music (Recently I've been listening to "The Red Capes Are Coming from BvS, and it is amazing!) and start writing.

I noticed too that you're drinking a lot diet Coke, is it your favorite drink, or is it merely a coincidence that you're very often drinking it while you're posting journals?

TK:I'll admit, I drink an unhealthy amount of Diet Coke, 4-7 cans a day.... I may be addicted...

Speaking of journals, since you came on the site a year or so a go you've been prolifically posting journals. Do you have a main reason for this, do you like to keep your fans up to date with everything happening, or is there another reason?

TK: Well, I don't post that often honestly, or not as much as I could be, so I think that is a nice way to keep people up to date!

Your birthday is coming up in a few months, I might be a little earlier to say, but, do you have any plans? And also, is there anything you want that maybe the wedgie fetish community can give you for your birthday?

TK: Nah, no one has to get me anything. And for IRL, yeah I have plans actually, going to vist my family down in Kentucky and stay still Thanksgiving.

In one of your earliest journals you talked about making stories based on requests and originally characters in stories had to be over 6 years old. And now on your page you say for commissions characters have to be 18 and over, I'm curious, why the change?

TK: Okay, I admit, I could of phrased that MUCH better. That was my way of trying to stop people from requesting toddlers and things like that.
So some people requested character along the ages of 10-12 which I was still uncomfortable with, so I changed it to state 18+.

You've done stories featuring characters from both the DC and Marvel universes'; is there one you prefer?

TK: Not really, I love both! They are both fun to read and write, both have great characters, and overall I like them both equally.

And to take things a step further, you've written stories with some of your favorite characters, is there a character who is your favorite either to write or see portrayed in stories, T.V. Movie, etc.

TK: Brie Larven! I love her! Don't know what it is, just like the character!
Also, Daisy Johnson and Sara Lance are some of my favorites as well!

What's it like actually sharing a canon with the writer
:iconcaptaina-2024:
Does knowing that what you write has the possibility to maybe effect what another person writes make the process more difficult for you.

TK: It doesn't, if anything it makes it a easier. When you share a canon you can rely on someone else to introduce new concepts that makes things more interesting.

And speaking of the two of you, you are probably two of the most prominent people who write stories with characters /and which are set, in the universes of Marvel and DC is it fair to say you sort of inspire one another?

TK: I have no idea if I inspire him, we talk a lot and I've given him a few ideas here and there, but I'm not sure if I could I inspire him. If so then cool! That's awesome!
And yeah, he inspired me to start writing my Comic Book stories.

And another question related to that, the two of you sort of corner the market, so to speak, on writing DC and Marvel wedgie stories, would you like to see more people writing stories with those characters or do you kind of like being one of the only people writing stories influenced by both universes?

TK: I would like more people to join in, the more the merrier!

You're working through the characters you said you would write stories for in a journal you posted. And I'm curious who you plan on writing about next.

TK: I'm actually in the middle of working on a few sequels!
Hacked Part 2
Prank War Part 3
Syndicate Chapters 3 and 4
And a surprise for my Star Wars fans!
Not to mention I also have some commissions I'm working on.

The "Prank Wars" you say is going to become a mini-series, can you give us any hints on what that might entail? What characters we can expect to see and possible arcs for the story?

TK: Yeah sure! The next part will mostly feature Scott and Jean in a wedgie fight. It's going to be slightly smaller then the others, BUT the issue after that will be longer and feature Psylocke.

You created two OC's for the world of "Union Girls" do you have any plans to create anymore for that universe? And I know you created a few of your own OC's, can we expect to see them in stories of their own in the future.

TK: Nope! No more Union girls! I mean, maybe if :iconsuperguy6060: want me to make more then I'd be up for it, but as of this moment, no.
I created a page awhile back about my OCS, but I have been on it in a awhile.
I might revive them, but for now they are kind of...dead.

And the character Lee you created, will he ever return in another story to wedgie other prominent female characters?

TK: Yeah...maybe? Don't know.

Also, the powers of your character Gwen Night are fascinating. Where did you get the idea for a person who can control the suns rays?

TK: I love the show Magicians, and one of the characters in that show can manipulate sun rays. Turn herself or others invisible, heat up certain spots, that kind of thing.

How did you first get into writing wedgie stories?

TK: I read a lot of AmyWedgie, then joined LF and got bored with that after awhile, so I came here and tried my hand at writing.

If I may change gears for a bit and ask slightly more personal questions; I wonder if you could maybe tell us a bit about your fetish. Do you have any idea how it started?

TK: Yeah, I do. It's kind of simple really, I was in the changing room in freshmen year, (I was a theater kid) and the school didn't shell out a lot on the theater, so the only thin dividing the guys and the girls room was this large cloth.
Now, me and a few friends heard some yelping and giggling coming from the other side, and then a couple minutes later two of the girl ran through it, (one trying to get away from the other) and one was yanking up on her friends underwear.
That was when I got interested in wedgie at least.

I'm curious, some have called the wedgie fetish a blessing while others have called it a curse. If you had the choice to go through life without this fetish, and everything that came with it, would you?

TK: I've made some friends through it...but also have met some real dickbags, so um, both? Depends on the time.

As a writer of wedgie stories do you have a main goal or motivation behind your writing? An underlying purpose that drives you perhaps?

TK: They are just fun to write, plus people like reading them, so that's the biggest reason!

I saw you asked the community a while back about your stories and if they thought they weren't as respectful to women as they could be. What do you think of the wedgie fetish community as a whole right now, are the works produced that you've seen more respectful of women, or is there still some room for improvement that you can see?

TK: Oh, the touchy subjects. But I think some people treat woman really respectfully in their art or stories, but other (the before mentioned Dickbags) just treat woman like items, which pisses me off.

Some of your older art and drawings you did on the site are done in a very different style than the kisekae way of art that you have been using more recently. Why the shift?

TK:I never really have the time to draw with a pencil and paper.

As the founder of groups like Wedgie Kingdom and RWBY-Wedgies I'm curious, as someone who isn't afraid to start groups, are there any groups you would like to see started in the community? Any people, shows or more specific category that should maybe have its own wedgie group started?

TK: I can't think of any at the moment. I think people should make groups about what interests them.

Also, as a founder of groups I would like to know what your purpose for founding them is. Why do it?

TK: To get a group of people who like the same thing together.

How does one gain your level of popularity? You have fans donating to your pool, over 15,000 page views and that number is still climbing. What do you think makes you so popular?

TK: I've only recently became gotten a lot of that. I think at this moment two months ago I had 9K Pageviews, so I suppose just improving your writing and eventually you will get noticed.

Do you have a favorite story of the ones you've written that, if people haven't read a single piece of your work before, that is the story you would recommend they check out?

TK: My personal favorite story of mine is Danver Dynamic, but I love both the characters in it. I think the best story I've written is Prank War to be honest. I spent the most time on it.

And if I may ask, your name, TheKingofTheBattle, where does the inspiration for it come from?

TK: When I first started my profile was of a Chinese Ruler, Dong Zhou from Warrior Orochi, he was often considered the King of Battle, so I went with it!

Do you have any advice for future writers and artists in the community?

TK: Be nice, be respectful and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Any questions, concerns, complains or confessions you want to pose or let the wedgie fetish community know about?

TK: Like I said previously, I don't like how rude some people can be. That's the biggest one at least.
Another interview with a relatively prominent member of the wedgie fetish community. TheKingofTheBattle founded the group RWBY-Wedgies, as well as others. His works are featured in multiple groups and he currently has a pool open for donations on his page. TheKingofTheBattle
